 Our Response to COVID-19

Riverstone Retirement Communities is committed to maintaining the safety and well-being of our residents, and team members. Riverstone follows the guidelines and advice of provincial and federal governments, along with Public Health agencies and retirement sector regulators, accordingly. As the directives and guidelines change, Riverstone Retirement Communities will change its policies and processes.

Tours are available by personal appointment only, to protect the health and safety of its residents, team members, and visitors.

Visitors Policy

The Ministry of Seniors and Accessibility and Retirement Homes Regulatory Authority continue to update their Visitors Policy-based of the provincial COVID-19 response framework. The implementation of the components of Riverstone Retirement Communities’ Visitors Policy will be dependent on whether the Ottawa Public Health unit is listed in Green (prevent), Yellow (protect), Orange (Restrict), Red (Control), or Grey (lockdown) zone.

Protecting our Residents

All of our communities have implemented the following safety measures in response to directives set out by the health agencies listed above:

  • Active screening of essential visitors, service providers and team members

  • Increased monitoring of the health of our residents to detect symptoms of COVID-19

  • Enhanced cleaning of all common areas and high-touch surfaces

  • Increased number, and prominence, of hand sanitizers

  • Education of residents, and team members, on infection protection including hand washing, social distancing etc.

  • Physical distancing during meal times and organized activities, following provincial guidelines

  • Residents are provided with surgical masks to use while in the home and when leaving the community

We would like to reassure you that we are taking good care of your loved ones in these trying times. If you have any questions or concerns regarding our residents or their care, please contact the community directly for assistance.
